Frequently asked questions
What does 2Cam actually record?
2Cam runs both of your iPhone's cameras at the same time and combines them into a single video file while you shoot. You choose how they're arranged: the front camera in a small movable window over the back camera (Front + Back), both sharing the screen equally (Split Screen), you cut out from your background and placed over the back camera's view (Overlay), the wide and ultra-wide back lenses together (Portrait + Landscape), or just one camera (Normal).
Does my iPhone support dual-camera recording?
Simultaneous dual-camera recording is a hardware feature and it isn't available on every iPhone. If your device supports it, all the dual modes appear normally. The resolution and frame-rate options in Settings are filtered to what your specific iPhone can genuinely handle in dual-camera mode — so if you don't see 4K there, your device can't record two cameras at that quality, even though it may shoot 4K with a single camera.
Where are my recordings saved?
Inside 2Cam, in the app's own gallery — not in your Photos library. Open the gallery from the camera screen to play, share or delete them. To move a recording into Photos, open it and use Save to Photos. This is important: anything you keep only inside the app is deleted along with the app if you uninstall it, so export the recordings you want to keep.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your recordings never leave your iPhone. There's no cloud account, no sync and no server of ours that receives your footage — including in Overlay mode, where the cut-out is computed on your device using iOS's built-in Vision technology. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I get rid of the watermark?
The 2Cam watermark appears on recordings made with the free version. A premium subscription removes it, along with the two-minute recording limit. Recordings you already made with the watermark keep it — it's part of the video file — so you'd need to record again after subscribing.
Why do my recordings stop at two minutes?
That's the free-version limit: each recording caps at two minutes and then stops automatically, saving what you filmed up to that point. Premium removes the cap.
What do I get with premium?
Premium removes the two-minute recording limit and the watermark, and unlocks Overlay mode, the teleprompter, and 4K recording on iPhones that support it in dual-camera mode. Everything else — Front + Back, Split Screen, Portrait + Landscape, Normal, zoom, focus and exposure control, the gallery, sharing and separate file saving — is available for free. Current pricing is shown in the app.
I paid but premium isn't active. What now?
Go to Settings → Restore Purchases in the app. That reconnects your App Store purchase to this installation, which is also what you need after reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account you purchased with. If it still doesn't unlock, message us from Settings → Support and we'll sort it out.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside 2Cam. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, select 2Cam and cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep premium until the end of the period you've already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store.
Can I keep each camera as its own video file?
Yes. Turn on Save Separate Files in Settings and 2Cam saves each camera's footage as its own video alongside the combined one, which is useful if you plan to edit properly later. It's off by default, since it uses more storage.
How does the teleprompter work?
Write or paste your script in the app, and it scrolls over the camera preview while you record so you can read it and look at the lens at the same time. You can adjust the scrolling speed and the text size to suit how fast you talk. The teleprompter is a premium feature.
My iPhone gets warm and the battery drains quickly.
That's expected to a degree — running two cameras at once and combining them in real time is one of the most demanding things an iPhone can do, and Overlay mode and higher resolutions add more work on top. If you're recording long takes, try 1080p instead of 4K and 30fps instead of 60, keep the device out of direct sun, and take it out of a thick case. iOS may slow things down on its own to protect the device if it gets too hot.
The camera preview is black or the app won't record.
This is almost always a permissions issue. Open the iOS Settings app, find 2Cam, and make sure Camera and Microphone are enabled. If both are on and the preview is still black, close 2Cam completely and reopen it — another app holding the camera can block it. Also check you have free storage: a recording can't be written if the device is full.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no login and no password — open the app and start recording. 2Cam never asks for your name or email address.
What languages does 2Cam support?
2Cam is available in 31 languages and follows your iPhone's language automatically. In-app support is translated into the same set, so you can write to us in your own language.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes your recordings, preferences and teleprompter script from your device. If you'd also like us to delete the anonymous account and any support conversation tied to your installation, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
